Eagle Two
In January 2008, Noront began drilling numerous airborne targets identified on their claims near the Eagle's Nest discovery. In February 2008, drilling at the AT-2 anomaly, later named Eagle Two, approximately two kilometres southwest of Eagle's Nest, intersected low grade magmatic massive sulphide mineralization.
Drilling to date at Eagle Two totals 26 holes for a total of 9,026 metres of drilling. Eagle Two has not, to date, demonstrated the same grade potential as Eagle's Nest. Grades and Eagle Two range from 0.3 to 0.7% nickel and 0.2% Cu over several metres to tens of metres in down hole depth. Platinum and palladium grades are generally lower than what is typical at Eagle's Nest.
Eagle Two remains a valid exploration target and Noront also intends to complete a preliminary resource estimate on Eagle Two in the near future.
